With a lifelong interest in and being near water, Warren R. Neil (Russ) is now a retiree living in Washington State.

Russ had a long and successful career with Merck & Co., Inc. He is a University of Washington graduate with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. Born and raised in the wheat field areas of eastern Washington and after living in Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Indiana, and New Jersey, he now lives back in his home state where he hopes to “grow” Hearts of Hope with a local Sequim, WA Chapter.
Russ learned of Hearts of Hope Foundation, Inc. when he joined a Moving Forward Bereavement Support™ Program¹ in New Jersey following the loss of his wife of nearly 35 years. Helped markedly with bereavement, he learned firsthand how Hearts of Hope are gifted to persons affected by loss of many kinds and how these bring comfort and smiles, often when none seem possible.
Honored to later help make, paint and gift Hearts of Hope, Russ is a tireless force in his efforts to expand the circle of support for others on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. He accomplishes this as Chapter President for the Sequim, Washington Hearts of Hope Chapter.
As a member of the Board of Directors, Russ' contribution and work with other volunteers has helped Hearts of Hope achieve its all-important fundraising goals needed for growth of our 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity. In his board role, Russ serves in an officer position as Board Secretary.
